Long before social media trends and travel influencers were a thing, the Eiffel Tower was taking over every honeymooner’s travel bucket list. Plans of trips to Paris spread through word of mouth, novels, cinema, and art. Rarely will you find a hotel as palatial as the Shangri-La; it, after all, is one near the Seine, established by Prince Roland Bonaparte, Napoleon’s nephew. The glamor is inevitable, even after its revival in 2010. You now see a meticulous hotel with accents of marble domes in the entryway and stained glass akin to a historical landmark itself. Of the 100 rooms at the venerable hotel, almost half have direct views of the Eiffel Tower. In some suites, you even get a clear view from the bathtub.
Given that the hotel holds itself to bastion of refinement, the beds are adorned with the most exquisite linens. Even the floors are heated, and the bathrooms come with exacting walk-in showers. Asians have been known to particularly favor the hotel for its uncompromising menu. The dimsums– heavenly, if I must say. Not only that, the Chinese restaurant Shang Palace and La Bauhinia serve delicious ducks. You might feel flustered with the magnificence at a glance, but with another look, it will begin to feel more at home.
Hotel Plaza Athénée
Plaza Athénée had some of the best reviews for hotels in Paris, and that definitely had us sold. You almost feel like you have stepped onto a grand set of an eloquent théâtre. The red awnings and lush ivy-draped courtyard certainly derive inspiration from the Parisian love of flair and dramatics. That does not mean that it isn’t one of the most comfortable stays in Paris. If the setting feels familiar, you have most definitely seen it in The Devil Wears Prada as Miranda’s home base. If Priestley deems it worthy, who are we to question!
The hotel looks like it was made functional by designers. Most rooms are in the French or Art Deco style. Silk-covered armchairs and floaty beds aside, the rooms are colorful, and public places flashier. If your kiddos are tagging along, the concierge would be more than willing to hook you up with the best family-friendly activities in Paris. The hotel has had a long-standing relationship with Dior, and the namesake spa is a must-visit. It is one of its kind in Paris, and the facials are life-changing. The menu is delivered by the grand Le Relais Plaza Brasserie and Le Bar, to name a few, from the five restaurants and bars on-site.
The Peninsula Paris
The Peninsula prides itself as a magnet for connoisseurs and harbingers of the best art on the planet. The hotel has hosted the likes of Picasso and Joyce in its prestigious arena. Life is all glam and fancy at the five-star hotel. Decor-wise, that reflects in its Belle Epoque architecture with a phenomenal abstract art collection. Rooms find themselves enriched with works by the French artist Patricia Erbelding. For a room as nostalgic of its yesteryear as this one (it slept empty for decades before being born under the Hong Kong Peninsula name), the hotel has no shortcomings in the tech department. The bedside control panels and tablets have all the info you’d need; you can also access printers and scanners should you need to work from vacation.
As a nod to its unifying experience, the hotel provides restaurants, spas, pools, and bars in its campus. You can choose from the five dining destinations, but we favor the cute L’Oiseau Blanc, which hoists two Michelin Stars. When you do need a relaxation from all the activities and things to do in Paris, you must try the vitality pools and massages.
Four Seasons Hotel George V
This Four Seasons is high tea, kind of grand, and not in an ostentatious way. The name did make us feel perturbed in anticipation of royalty in the more traditional sense, but it is far from that. The staff is extremely amiable and attentive. Touches like a dramatic lobby and a winter “igloo” make it feel more grounded than staid. This creates a discernible difference from other palatial hotels, perhaps courtesy of the Four Seasons name. You are still very likely to run into royalties and celebrities on your trip to the five Michelin-starred restaurants in the arena.
Although not all of the rooms offer Eiffel Tower views, enough of the upper-floor rooms and suites have prominent views of the pride of Paris. The intricacies of the rooms have oversized walk-in closets, chandeliers, feathery soft mattresses, and extend to the marble bathrooms with deep bathtubs and double vanities. Worth the hype (and the price tag)!
Kimpton St Honoré Paris
A big crowd carrier, the Kimpton St Honoré is. It lives in the shadow of the majestic Palais Garnier and thrives in the epic Belle Époque construction. Most of the design of the original 1914 construction has been retained- spiral stairway, mezzanine-level alcoves, and interior balconies. Pied-à-terre aesthetic emerges in its ceramics, mosaics, and lightings. Most of the periphery is basked in French influences sans the Montecito restaurant, which is more nonchalant than its nativity.
If your travel falls in the summery months, you must visit the Sequoia rooftop bar. It’s seasonal and offers the best skyline views in Paris while you sip on your cocktails. While Premium Eiffel Tower View Rooms are available, the vistas from the nonpareil La Suite Honoré are sentimental, to say the least.

Having heard of Hotel Eber on Reddit as a coveted budget hotel in Paris, I was pleased to see that it was recently renovated into Le Cercle Tour Eiffel. The aesthetics have improved; you see a cleaner Art Deco style in its construction and furnishing. Not all the rooms have Tower views, but the ones that do have an impeccable one. I also love the Juliet balconies in some of the rooms; it will make you feel like a foreigner settled in Paris, sipping on their wine, gazing lazily at the roofs ahead of you.

Hotel Duquesne is my favorite 4-star hotel in Paris. You would expect a beige and cream hue from this Parisian stay, but the colours in the hotels- the blue in the wall, curtain, and furnishing make for an excellent reprieve. In their Superior rooms, where you find the best Eiffel Tower views, the hotel has added the most comfortable beds and walk-in rain showers. If your kids have tagged along or you are travelling in a trio, the Superior Triple Room stands as the best pick. Along with the double bed, you also get a single bed. From here, divin sights of Duquesne and Lowendal await.

The Elsa Joseph design now merges different materials into the nearby Saint-Lazare train station aesthetic. The hotel has ensured that the premises remain strictly clean with its numerous sanitary protocols. No two rooms share strict similarities, but manage to retain a consensus. Each has a spectacular stained glass window at the bedpost in colours of blue or red. From the window too, views of the Haussmannian architecture and the Eiffel Tower are liberal. Obviously, the rooms are sumptuously designed in the traditional sense; what impressed us were the two rooms adapted for people with reduced mobility. The same are served by a lift. But you are in for a view of the Tower, and the Junior Suite Eiffel Terrace will do just right by you.

Granted we have been talking about sentiments and romance in the hotels we have seen so far, the Novotel Paris Vaugirard comes as a stoic break. Not to say that it is all mortar and pillars; we are a big fan of its abstract walls and the offbeat mirrors. The colours are warm and adhere to an unflashy decor. It, in fact, is one of the best budget-friendly business hotels in Paris. The seminar room on the 7th floor is inspiring for business meetings. Since it is only a 20-minute walk away, it is also a popular option for hotels near Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. After the meeting, you’d want a respite at an Executive Room with the best Eiffel Tower views.

Caveat to everything you are looking for, the views of the Eiffel Tower you get from your hotel is momentary. Surely it is sensational and romantic, to say the least, but you tend to spend little time at your hotel.
FAQs
For the classic Parisian atmosphere, choose Saint-Germain-des-Prés (6th) for culture, Le Marais (3rd/4th) for trendiness, or the 1st/2nd Arrondissements for central access.
Only photography for commercial purposes is restricted at night. The tower’s nighttime lighting installation is a copyrighted work of art and is not eligible for capturing. You can still use it for personal use.
Place du Trocadéro is one of the best places to see the Eiffel Tower from. The raised plaza is just across the Seine and has unobstructed views. From Rue de l’Université, the view comes with Haussmannian apartment buildings. Pont de Bir-Hakeim, a two-levelled bridge, also gives a good angle of the tower for photography.
Francette is a boat at the foot of the Tower and has amazing views of the structure. The food is amazing, too, unlike most other restaurants that have stunning views but abysmal food. But nothing beats getting takeaway and taking a stroll by the Seine, basking in the views.
The 7th arrondissement is on the Left Bank at the foot of the monument and has great sights of the greenery of Champs de Mars and Eiffel Tower.
Place du Trocadéro is free to visit for all to see the Eiffel Tower and you get unobstructed views.
