The first step in traveling is deciding the month you travel. And the next is to look for flights and accommodations. The most important aspects for consideration in the second step are:

    • Trip budget
    • ‘To and from’ airports
    • Priority = price or convenience?

Getting these three done and out of the way will then help you come up with a 7-day Costa Rica itinerary. Some additional details that you can benefit from on your trip:

    • SJO is the most preferred choice between San José (SJO) and Liberia (LIR ) – two Costa Rica airports.
    • Try getting plane tickets to Costa Rica from Atlanta or plane tickets to Costa Rica from Boston (or vice versa) – flying into one and out the other will save a lot of driving hours.

It is an ultimate refreshment. Once you’re energized, it is time to explore the Central Market.

What to do on Day 6

    • Early morning plans – 7:30 am is fine. Get inside the Manuel Antonio National Park and begin your Jungle Trek. Walk through the Sloth Trail and the popular Mangrove Boardwalk. When we say you can see the Jungle come to life, we mean camouflaged sloths and “Jesus Christ” lizards running on the water. Choosing to hire a naturalist or an expert is one of the most vital things to do in Costa Rica Jungle trek. They carry special spotting scopes so you do not miss out on these sloths and tiny lizards.
    • Playa Manuel Antonio is the ending point for your hike. This was included on your Day 5 Costa Rica itinerary but on Day 6, you can just relax and soak in the sun. You can choose to swim or surf again but you can just rest.
    • You can go back through the same route and exit the park or just leave from the beach. Freshen up at your hotel and explore other local areas. Or if you are residing at Tulemar Costa Rica, it’s teh best time to spend an afternoon there. Spot squirrel monkeys and toucans from your room’s balcony. It’s that easy because they move through the trees during that time.

    What will you experience

A complete tropical heaven! Wildlife spotting with the help of your guide – three-toed sloths, scarlet macaws, and capuchin monkeys (white-faced). The nature enthusiast in you will fall in love with the beauty of these forests. Believe us, the biodiversity you witness on your hike will be higher than any other place on the planet. Then, go from jungle canopy to sand and waves. Take a break and rest. This day can be close to nature, if you are ready for the ‘best hike’ of your life.

Day 7: Souvenirs, Farewell & Return Flight

Everyone dreads the last day of their vacation but how about we make your Costa Rica itinerary light yet worth remembering? And by that we mean getting souvenirs for your home and your loved ones. We suggest you finish packing and leave some space for the trinkets you’ll be taking home. Go out for one last tropical breakfast overlooking the Pacific. Explore the local market, and shop. Begin your drive to the guanacaste airport. Stop at the Crocodile Bridge over the Tarcoles River (if it’s enroute).

    Conclusion

We believe Costa Rica weather in December till April is the perfect backdrop for a week-long adventure. You get plenty of adventure. You get plenty of exploration. You become a part of nature. A trip to Costa Rica is not just any vacation that you need, it a vacation that your soul has been waiting for.

We have noted that Costa Rica travel packages that integrates parts of both the coast and the highlands are highly rated. That’s because it is versatile, fun, adventurous and peaceful. It’s an ‘all-in-one’ package. We have tried to provide the same experience with this week-long Costa Rica itinerary.

People who have time to explore an entire destination (7 to 14 days) can get much more out of their trip. But for those who don’t have much time for long breaks, this 7-day itinerary is perfect. It includes enough rest so you still feel relaxed, while also offering plenty of activities to make every day feel like an adventure that never stops. Travel Scout.
